Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Alexandria VA crawl space makeover

This Alexandria VA homeowner called us to try and help find a solution to make the room above their crawl space more comfortable year-round including addressing the floors being cold.  Pedro Guillen performed a home inspection and identified a way to help.  After removing the existing old, moldy insulation that was hanging loose from the top of the crawl space and removing the black plastic material which had been covering the dirt floors, we put down a layer of TerraBlock drainage matting before covering it with CleanSpace material which we ran up the crawl space walls.  Afterward, we installed a SmartSump pump and a Sedona Crawl Space air system to dehumidify and direct moisture in the air to the sump pump for discharge out of the crawl space.  We then air-sealed the space to make it a controlled environment, keeping outside air and temperatures from impacting the crawl space and rooms above it.
