Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Alexandria VA Crawl Space gets some TLC

This Alexandria VA home was suffering from humidity in the living space of the home and water collecting in the crawl space below.  Our Sales Pro Pedro Guillen performed an inspection of the home and found the right solutions to address it all.  Our production teams removed the existing insulation from the ceiling of the crawl space, removed the existing plastic covering the dirt floors and sprayed MoldX2 cleaner to address some growth before finally fogging the crawl space.  Afterwards they dug a line to install a SmartPipe to lead water to the newly installed SmartSump pump.  Drainage matting and CleanSpace covering were then laid over the dirt floors and up the walls to encapsulate the surfaces in the crawl space.  Finally, closed cell spray foam was used to insulate the ceiling, seal up the rim joists and close off vents which were allowing outside air and moisture into the crawl space.  The final result is a fully encapsulated and controlled crawl space with water management and sump pump to discharge water outside.  Controlling the crawl space eliminates the opportunity for humidity and dirty air to work its way into the home and living space above, creating a healthier and more comfortable environment.
