This Manassas VA homeowner was unhappy with the cold floors in their home so they called to see if we could help. It turned out the issue was based in their crawl space which had open vents allowing outside air to come in, poor air quality due to mildew and rodent infestation and poor insulation throughout the space. Our production crew removed the old insulation and plastic material that had been covering the wet dirt floors and then cleared the crawl space floor to allow for installation of terra block floor matting and Clean Space. They then installed Silver Glo insulation panels on the foundation walls and air sealed them with Zyp Foam. Spray Foam was then used to seal and insulate the rim joists of the home to control external air from coming in. A new Everlast door was added to keep the entrance of the crawl space air sealed and finally a Sedona SaniDri dehumidifier was installed to keep the air moisture free and the space dry. This will improve the cold floors, create better air quality in the rooms above and reduce the cost of energy to heat and cool the home.
