Waterproofing a Crawl Space in Herndon, VA

Challenge

Homeowners in Herndon, VA have a split level home. One day they noticed water in the lower level. They also found water marks and mold on the wall as well. They wanted this taken care of immediately before it got worse or caused any help problems.

Solution

Our awesome evaluator, Mat Frix, went to the house and did a full assessment. He determined that the water and moisture was coming from the crawl space. The 3 Pros production crew quickly got to work. They waterproofed and conditioned the crawl space, preventing this issue from occurring again. These lovely homeowners can now breathe easy, knowing that their moisture and mold concerns have been taken care of.

This yucky, muddy crawl space was consistently wet and moldy. There was a ton of standing water.

The crew got to work. First they installed the SmartPipe Crawl Space Drainage System. This system is made especially for dirt crawl spaces.

Drainage matting is installed. The raised dimples on our CleanSpace Drainage Matting gives the water flooding into your crawl space a channel underneath your crawl space liner. This directs the water flooding your crawl space to your perimeter crawl space drain and sump pump system.

TerraBlock is installed next. TerraBlock is a durable floor insulation product that is custom-designed for the unique environment that exists in a crawl space.

SilverGlo is now attached to the crawl space walls. This provides an unbroken sheet of R-11 insulation for your home. SilverGlo also provides a vapor barrier on your crawl space walls, holding back the moisture and humidity.

The SumpPump sump pump gets put in. The SuperSump is a full-featured system that includes the best components available. This top-rated 1/3 HP Zoeller cast iron pump offers reliability and high-volume pumping

Closed cell spray foam is installed on the rim joists to create an air tight seal.
