Before: Window
Here we have a window that is partially sub-subterranean as you can see by looking at the lower right side of the window. This window is an entry point for outside air and water and will be included in the basement waterproofing. When we waterproof your basement, they do not do all four walls floor to ceiling if that is not what is needed, they only treat the infected areas which will save you a lot of money. In this house's particular case the all four walls were problematic and floor to ceiling was underground so the entire basement was treated.
A Gnarly Before Photo
This nasty photo is of what the homeowner had in place before we came in to clean the place up and waterproof the space!
Jackhammering
Here is a shot of one of the crew members jackhammering the existing concrete flooring to make space for the sub-flooring drainage system!
Removing Jackhammered Debris
This is a snapshot of one of the team members using a pick (and eventually shovel) to remove all of the loosened cement we jackhammered. This is the last step before starting to put in the actual basement waterproofing system.
CleanSpace Liner
This photo simply shows the CleanSpace Wall Liner after partially complete. CleanSpace Liner is a three layered high strength polyethylene film that is what acts as the physical vapor barrier. Now, when water comes seeping through your foundation walls, it is stopped upon reaching the CleanSpace Liner and falls directly into the drainage system, pushing all water away from the house.
CleanSpace Wall Liner
This is just another shot of the CleanSpace Liner. Here you can see how it comes in a roll and is applied to the walls.
From Fresh Gravel to Tape
In this one photo you can get a close up view at some of the products used. The grey plastic thing is the sub-flooring drainage system, WaterGuard, and the tape is actually WaterGaurd Sheeting. WaterGuard Sheeting is used over loose stones and the WaterGaurd drainage system before fresh concrete is poured. This is also a close view of the CleanSpace Wall Liner. This is the product that does the actual waterproofing.
WaterGaurd
Here is another shot of the WaterGaurd drainage system before it is covered in loose stones or cemented. Here you can see one of our guys installing it.
Replacing the Sump Pump
This is a photo of one of our team members working on replacing the old sump pump with a SuperSump pump.
Making Cement
Now it is time for the final step, sealing the floor with cement. In this image you can see a crew member making cement that will later back fill the trench around the perimiter of the basment floor we have created.
