Photo Album: Vienna Va basement waterproofing and crawl space improvement

This Vienna Va basement suffered from water coming through the walls and foundation, creating wetness on the floor.  The crawl space shared walls with the basement and the rooms above had floors that were being impacted by the uncontrolled temperature in the crawl space.  After inspecting the home to identify possible solutions, Pedro Guillen determined that sealing up the crawl space with SilverGlo insulation paneling along with high density spray foam would help to reduce the allowance of uncontrolled air from outside.  This would reduce humidity and help make the floors above the crawl space more comfortable.  Installing WaterGuard along the base of the walls around the basement will control the water making its way into the basement and deliver it to a newly installed SuperSump sump pump.  This will be a more effective way of managing the water than the existing system of PVC pipe running all over the basement which just dumped water into a drain.   WaterGuard is installed below the flooring and is hidden from sight.  Its collects water and delivers it to the sump pump for discharging to outside.
