Arlington VA basement gets waterproofing and more,
Challenge
This Arlington VA basement was dealing with water issues. Additionally, the homeowner had a rough out for a bathroom with a need to place a shower drain for future finishing of the bathroom. The basement was below ground and needed a way to discharge the water up and out into the yard far from the home.
Solution
After inspecting the basement and drainage options it was determined that our WaterGuard system would best work to collect and direct the uninvited water into a newly installed TripleSafe sump pump which would then discharge the water through pipes laid below the surface of the yard with it all existing the pipes at the edge of the yard and away from the home. this setup doesn't stop the water from making its way into the home, instead, it controls it and then pumps it out and away from the outdoor walls and foundation of the home. The WaterGuard system is installed below the basement flooring and can be covered by whatever eventual flooring surface the homeowner chooses to use once they remodel. The TripleSafe sump pump has 3 different pumps and a battery pack to work as backups if and when one pump might be overwhelmed. This ensures that your pump cannot fail and your basement stays dry. While we do not do plumbing work, we were able to navigate the piping used for the future bathroom and shower drain.
