Challenge

This home in Occoquan, VA suffered from cold floors in their addition. The addition was built over a vented crawl space.

Solution

We sealed the vents and removed all the old fiberglass insulation and old ripped vapor barrier. Next, TerraBlock insulation was added to the dirt floor of the crawl space. This keeps the heat from being sucked into the ground, as hot moves towards cold. Then, we installed a CleanSpace 20 mil, anti-microbial vapor barrier. The walls of the crawl space were insulated as final touches.
