Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Reston VA crawl space transformation

The floors in this Reston VA home were cold in the winter and several rooms were uncomfortable to the homeowner.  Our Sales Pro Eric Vislay did a full home inspection and identified a few solutions to help solve those problems.  There was a crawl space below an addition that had been built on the home which had failing insulation, uncontrolled air moving in and out, and cold wet dirt floors.  The floors above were being impacted by the uncontrolled temperature in the crawl space and contributing to the homeowner's discomfort.  Our production team removed the old insulation which had started to fall loose.  After removing the old insulation the crawl space was air sealed with spray foam in and around the rim joists as well as having the air vents covered and sealed with ZypFoam.  TerraBlock and Clean Space were then laid across the ground area in the crawl space to seal up the cold, wet and dirty floors.  This would help to eliminate additional humidity and poor quality air in the crawl space from making its way into the living spaces above.   SilverGlo insulation panels were used to cover the walls in the crawl space.  The final product was a clean, enclosed space that would better serve as a part of the home as a unit.  No more cold floors and cleaner healthier air for the homeowners.
