Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Purcellville VA Crawl Space Waterproofing and Insulation

This Purcellville VA crawl space was nasty. Wet, musty and dirty with old black plastic across section of the dirt floors and dirty, moldy insulation falling from the ceiling. Water and moisture was coming through the cinder block foundation walls and making the dirt floors wet and muddy. Our Basement Waterproofing Sales Pro Jason visited with the homeowners and performed a full Home Performance inspection. Jason was able to develop a detailed plan utilizing several products and services that we offer to help improve the crawl space while also helping to improve the air quality for the people living in the home and spaces above. Our production crew started by removing the old insulation and black plastic covering the floors. After leveling out some of the dirt floors they installed a Water Guard waterproofing system along the base of the walls, dug into the dirt floors. They then applied a layer of drainage matting topped off by Clean Space surface covering the walls and floors. Finally, spray foam was applied to the walls and rim joists to air seal and insulate. This crawl space is now fully encapsulated and immune from outside moisture and air impact. The space can be used for storage and will have cleaner, less musty air. This will all help to improve the comfort and air quality above.
