This work in progress has already shown a massive visual change. The owner of this Alexandria Virginia home had called us to help with cold floors and a musty smell coming from their crawl space. Upon inspection, our Certified Home Performance Sales Pro Jason found the insulation inside to be falling and old. There was excessive moisture in the space due to the extra water that wasnt making its way to the sump pump. Our team was able to remove all of the old insulation and will be lining the ground with Clean Space after they finish using Silver Glo insulation panels to cover the walls and insulate from the outside in, rather than just below the floors above.
Transforming a bare crawl space into a controlled environment can improve the air quality and health for the people living in the home. This crawl space went from having open vented air to the outdoors and wet dirt floors, to being sealed and insulated from outside. No more musty air and odors for the homeowner and now more control of the temperature and energy use of the home.
Crawl space encapsulated successfully
Wood and other organic materials have the potential to degrade, rot and grow mold. This crawl space entrance door in Alexandria VA was showing the signs of age. Part of a project we did to clean up the crawl space and help to control the environment inside included replacing the old door with our Everlast Crawl Space Door. Made from material that will not break down or wear out like wood, it is also insulated and seals tight enough to keep unwanted air from entering the crawl space when it is closed up.
Our goal with any home project is to leave a home in better condition than it was in before we did work. That includes the outside. We often have to dig into a yard to lay a discharge line for sump pumps for basement or crawl space waterproofing jobs like this one.
