This unfinished basement in Berryville VA had wet floors throughout most of the space including an attached crawl space. The existing sump pump wasn't placed correctly so water was building up all around the dirt floors making mud and wet spots. The water was coming in through the walls and under the foundation whenever it rained and the basement was too humid and smelled musty. Our production crew laid down Terra Block and drainage matting to cover and seal in the dirt floors, allowing air to flow beneath and the water to keep from collecting anywhere in the basement. Clean Space was used to cover it all and to wrap the foundation piers and lower parts of the wall. This created a proper moisture barrier and kept the musty smell from being able to develop further.
This Hume, VA home had some funky mold growth in their crawl space that was causing mildew odors and posing a health risk. The 3 Pros team cleaned the whole crawl space first, then installed drainage matting and Terra Block and finished the job with 20 mil. CleanSpace vapor barrier installation and sealed and insulated the walls with closed cell foam spray.
Homeowners in Bluemont, VA were experiencing mildew smells and high humidity. Their allergies were flaring up because of this. 3 Pros Basement Systems alleviated these issues. We controlled the humidity coming in by removing all of the existing insulation, sealed up the sump basin, and installed our CleanSpace wall system. We then dehumidified the basement further by installing our Sedona dehumidifier.
Crawl space encapsulation, or sealing, is the treatment that building scientists recommend to turn a damp, dirty, moldy crawl space into a clean, dry space where mold can’t grow. If your crawl space looks anything like this before photo, give us a call at 3 Pros Basement Systems and turn your crawl space into an asset rather than a liability.
This home in Upperville Virginia had a nasty crawl space. It was musty smelling and had mold present in the old insulation and around the crawl space ceiling. Our Certified Home Performance Sales Pro Eric was able to design a plan using the right products to help keep the unwanted water and moisture in the crawl space contained and to help improve the air quality in the home. The floors were insulated and covered with drainage matting and a vapor barrier. The support piers in the crawl space were sealed and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to remove moisture from the air. This will all help keep the crawl space drier, make the home more comfortable, and improve the air quality in the home.
