The crawl space in this Purcellville, VA home went through a stunning transformation. Crawl space encapsulation provides many benefits. These benefits include reducing humidity issues, controlling pest problems, improving indoor air quality, decreasing mold growth, and much more.
This Purcellville VA crawl space needed a full transformation to help improve the air quality of the home and rooms above, to better insulate the lower areas of the home and to control the unwanted moisture and water in the crawl space. Encapsulation of this crawl space was done by removing the existing insulation, using spray foam to insulate and air seal the rim joists of the home, laying Terra Block to cover the dirt floors and then covering the surfaces and walls with Clean Space. This all helps to reduce outside air and temperatures from impacting the crawl space and creates a barrier between the dirt floors and the rest of the home. A sump pump was installed to discharge any water collected out of the home.
This dirt floor crawl space was directly contributing to musty odors that the homeowners had noticed, as well as increased humidity in summer months. The solution to their problems was our CleanSpace encapsulation system, as well as spray foam application on joists and areas of air leakage.
This crawl space in Philomont was damp and had little to no insulation. This was causing floors above it to be abnormally cold and the duct work to freeze. In warm months, the duct work would sweat. After our team performed this incredible crawl space encapsulation, the crawl is now totally dry and encapsulated. The floors above will remain warm in the winter, the duct work will no longer freeze/sweat, and the reduced humidity levels will eliminate the possibility of mold growth.
This Lincoln, VA homeowner was interested in several comfort solutions for their home. The lower level floors are always cold in the winter, and seemed drafty. Plus, the house was always humid and clammy.
We evaluated the situation and found crawl space encapsulation would be the best solution.
